Children's Ministry Director

We are looking for a servant leader with a passion to love and lead kids (and families) towards a life-changing relationship with Jesus. The candidate should be authentic, loving, passionate, creative, engaging, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. The right person knows that they can’t do it all themselves and will need to build, motivate, and manage teams to accomplish the work of the ministry.


The Children’s Ministry Director will be responsible for leadership and implementation of all of our kid's ministry programs, birth-5th grade. The Children’s Ministry Director will establish direction and vision for the children’s ministries of Calvary Chapel South. The Children’s Ministry Director will oversee the ministry, with a special emphasis on recruiting, training and developing teams of leaders (both staff and volunteer) who will intentionally serve in children’s ministry here at Calvary Chapel South.


Together with the Children’s Ministry team, our Children’s Ministry Director will develop an age-appropriate Spiritual Formation model that emphasizes Bible teaching, small groups, worship, community, outreach, events, and parent partnership. The ideal candidate has a passion for teaching the Bible to children and teaching adults how to teach the Bible to children.


Our Children’s Ministry Director will work toward ensuring that every aspect of our kids, parents, volunteers and staff experience is a meaningful one.


The Children’s Ministry Director’s Responsibilities Include:

Create a clean, safe, beautiful, inviting, and hospitable children’s ministry.

  • Come early and stay late! Be there to welcome the ministry workers and leaders who are ‘your’ volunteers; encourage and assist them in their setup and cast vision for them every week!
  • Ensure that volunteers are well cared for and appreciated (for example, delicious and well-presented refreshments regularly)
  • Ensure that directional signs are appropriately placed throughout the kid's ministry.
  • Ensure that all areas of the children’s ministry are presentable, trash-free, and welcoming.
  • Ensure that set up and tear down happen in an efficient manner.

 

Provide pastoral leadership and the implementation of our children’s ministry weekend services.

  • Create programming that is God-centered and kid-focused.
  • Be responsible for all business administration including finances and operations.
  • Choosing a curriculum for all children’s services.
  • Worship and small groups.
  • Strategic and leadership development.
  • Equip, train, empower and appreciate all the volunteers.
  • Provide quality service at all weekend services.
  • Be present for all services or appoint designated responsible leaders to be present.
  • Special kids-focused Sundays.
  • Be available to provide prayer, care, and love to any individual who may be seeking it.
  • Scope and sequence of spiritual learning and formation.
  • Ensure the security and safety of the children and staff.
  • Run facility operations in regard to children's ministry services.
  • Administration for parent support and resourcing.


Staff team partnership

  • Manage part-time staff: Little’s Coordinator & Children’s Ministry Admin
  • Contribute to the overall mission of Calvary Chapel South.
  • Participate in designated meetings. (staff meeting, prayer meetings, one-on-ones, etc.)
  • Participate in team-building events.
  • Participate in church events


What You Bring:

Education & Experience

  • College degree or commensurate ministry experience in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in high-level leadership


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge and experience of administrative scheduling.
  • Proven ability to lead children’s ministry services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to build and manage teams.

  • Tithe to Calvary Chapel South.
  • Regular attendance at all services and Calvary Chapel South events.
  • Fully embraces the vision, values and statement of faith of Calvary Chapel South.
  • Abstain from illegal substances, drunkenness, and any immoral behavior.
  • Adhere to the parameters and processes set forward in our Employee Handbook.

 

Time Expectations

  • Full Time: 40 + hours
  • Flexible, typically: Sunday to Thursday
  • Present for all weekend services and ministry functions on Sunday.

Little's Coordinator

Part-Time: 10-20hrs/week

Reports to: Children's Ministry Director

 

We’re looking for a servant leader with a heart for families in the early childhood phase of life. The ideal candidate will be caring, hospitable, detail-oriented, and energetic. The Little’s Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and implantation of ministries directed at nursery – 5 years olds and their parents. The right person will be a team-player, working closely with our Children’s Ministry Director, with an emphasis on recruiting, training, and empowering a large team of dedicated volunteers.

 

The Littles Coordinator’s Responsibilities Include:


Create a clean, safe, beautiful, inviting, and hospitable children’s ministry.

  • Come early and stay late! Be there to welcome the ministry workers and leaders who are ‘your’ volunteers; encourage and assist them in their setup and cast vision for them every week!
  • Ensure that there are delicious and well-presented refreshments for the volunteers.
  • Ensure that directional signs are appropriately placed throughout the kid's ministry.
  • Ensure that all areas of the children’s ministry are presentable, trash-free, and welcoming.
  • Ensure that set up and tear down happen in an efficient manner.

Childcare Provider

Part-Time/Hourly - Contractor

 

We’re looking for awesome and responsible adults and teenagers who have a heart to care for children and share God’s love with them. Calvary Chapel South has regular events and groups the require childcare as we minister to parents and family members. The right candidate will have a servant’s heart and share in our vision to equip families, knowing their job as a childcare provider plays a vital part in that process.

 

A Childcare Provider is responsible for the growth and well-being of each child in their care. They will have the privilege of being an influence in their spiritual growth and an example of Jesus’ love to them.

 

In the classroom, the Childcare Provider is expected to engage with all children and be attentive to their needs in a loving and caring way. Communicating with parents as needed and maintaining safety and order in the classroom.


Schedule: varies based on event schedule /weekly if providing childcare for groups
